VERUS is a real estate development and investment firm based in Phoenix, Arizona and Seattle, Washington. The Company acquires and develops commercial properties throughout the western United States. The company’s investment objective in all our project efforts is the creation of strong credit, long-term, lease-based cash flow streams.

The Company develops user driven commercial and retail properties on a build-to-suit basis or as part of a multi-component project and purchases multi-tenant, office and retail properties with in-fill, turn-around, or redevelopment characteristics.

This business effort leverages a combination of tenant and broker relationships with intrinsically valuable property to create increased value and higher returns in value-add acquisition and redevelopment scenarios. Verus pursues the acquisition of under-utilized/leased existing properties, properties with competitive advantages due to location, pricing, and/or entitlements, and vacant properties suitable for development.

Verus was formed in June 2005 when former Univest Development Group partner John Maus and Northwest Retail Partners founder Rob Andrews realized that their complementary backgrounds, similar perspective on risk, and long-standing tenant and financial relationships could result in a successful real estate investment company. Verus currently has projects owned or under development in Washington and Arizona. The principals have completed projects in both these states as well as Alaska, Texas, Colorado, Oregon, Idaho, New Mexico, and California.
